The folder contains a map of the Trail, considerable information about the Trail, its operation, its sponsoring Association, and two large ads, one for travel in Wisconsin and one for travel in Minnesota.

Before 1912, when the Yellowstone Trail Association was founded, there was almost no cross-country auto traffic for two good reasons:  there were no useable roads and autos were not sufficiently reliable.  1919 marked the beginning of "serious" traffic to the West.  The Great War was over, more reliable autos were available and affordable, and the major trail organizations had marked useable routes.
